Default Need help about building a GSR tranny With b16 1st & 2nd with ls 5th.

Hey guys
I have an Gsr tranny that is semmi mest up. It needs a new countershaft becuase the last gear that goes to the final drive has 3 theths chirped of. My plan is to get b16 1st and 2nd gears, GSR 3rd and 4th gears and LS 5th gear. What am i required to get to do this. I talked to a buddi and he said something about countebalanced gears and the ls 5th has to be out on an 93 ls tranny or the other way around. Is there a link here on ht that shows what i need to do this the proper way so i wont end up with a mest up tranny. And no i am not gona put this tranny togheter. I will have a friend that build tranies put this thing toghether after i get the right gears/partstc.
Please tell me, show me what is needed to get my tranny like i want or close to how i want it .
Thanks

im not 100% sure, but im almost certain it doesnt matter which year ls transmission you cannibalize your 5th gear set from. im doing kinda the same thing right now, but a b16 tranny with an ls 5th set. i just pressed the gears off at school earlier tonight and ordered a new ls mainshaft 5th gear, im just trying to find an ls 5th for the countershaft now...

I wouldn't do it. That is a recipe for a long 2-3 shift.

As far as what you need, talk to your friend that builds trannys since he will be doing it. If he can't tell you what you need find someone else to do it.

He rebuilds them not build them like what i want. I loked up all the prices of what i need and i just decided to go with gsr tranny internal and an ls 5th gear. I already spin tires sometimes in 1st gear even tough its an ls tranny so an b16 first gear would be really pointless.
Thanks guys

B16 1st is the same as LS/GSR.
