Ok, here's the situation, theres something mechanical keeping me from VSS, it never worked after I got the quaife installed to the tranny at honda and acura specialists in ATL. When i had cromepro the vss was diabled and the tune was pretty good. well my chip took a dump on me and I'm in a new state and going to a new tuner very soon with no vss. I was thinking I could change platforms while i have this opportunity but i'm no realizing that with no vss i might be screwed. What tuning platforms will operate without vss? can i get hondata? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Jason

 

They all have a setting to disable VSS and operate VTEC without VSS, if that's what you're referring to.

 

Why dont you just tear the transmission apart and install the speedo gear onto the differential. It was probably forgot about and not installed on the new differential. You could run it without the speedo hooked up. But then you wont have gear based corrections and wouldnt beable to run gear based boost control.

 

sorry i was in no hurry to tear up the tranny, cuz i'm not some kind of honda genius but maybe now is the time while the car is down anyways to investigate this thing further. what am i missing without running vss, will my tune be any different? it would be helpful to know how fast i'm going too lol.

 

You dont need to have the VSS too properly tune a car no. But it is nice on certain situations and when checking over logs.
