Rough idle and sluggish aceleration
Hello,
I recently purchased a 2000 Honda Civic SiR and I am now having issues with a really rough idle and sluggish acceleration. It will idle smoothly at 1000 rpm or so, but then like every 10-15 seconds it goes down to 400 rpm, almost ready to stall and then it goes back up. Not sure whta might be causing this issue. I have recently changed the air filter.
Now i know that my car did not have the PCV hose, so I put that on. Ever since then, as far as I can tell, I have been having this issue. I think that my PCV valve might be dirty, or broken? Could it be the sparkplugs, even though the car starts just fine? The car seems to be slow at accelerating and then all of a sudden at 3500 or so, it seems to breathe more air and takes off. Like normal.
PCV hose/valve, spark plugs, Fuel injectors maybe? Could it be the Fuel filter? It just seems odd that it is now happening since I put on the PCV hose. Possibly it was removed because PCV valve is damaged or unusable. I will try shaking the valve.. to hear for the rattle..
Anyone else have these same issues?? It ran beautifully before this
Thanks!

I have not had a chance to look at CEL codes, sorry. I will check the plugs, wires and cap. Sorry but what do you mean by rotor? I am not really mechanically inclined, the rotors that I know about are the ones for your brakes. Thanks though information.
I have a feeling something clogging up.

the rotor he is talking about is found underneath the distributor cap.
replace all that stuff and your PCV valve (they are cheap) and then re-do your timing
