Icon6 Trouble Getting into gear at times.

Alright i have a gsr with a b16 hydro and stage 3 xtd clutch kit. The problem has occured before but it went away. Randomly when at a stop light ill have trouble getting into gear/ any gear. I step on the clutch pedal and try shifting but it just feels like its stuck. i forced it in just to get out of the road and now its making a chirping noise from time to time when i engage the clutch pedal when im in neutral. So after asking around people said it might be the spring trying to pop out, or i just need to bleed my system again. The thing is that now i can go into gear fine again. So any idea's? anyone have similar problems before? and my brother in law said that with his experiences 6 pucks usually make weird noises from time to time but mine never did until the other day....so any thoughts would be appreciated..thanks

Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder and bleed the slave cylinder.

fluid level is full just rather dirty. and my idea was to flush the whole system and rebleed it..

The worst case is that the spring from the disk could be detaching and jamming.

It takes just one spring. I've seen pictures before where this has happened. The chirping would fit the scenario as well.

Like Dogginator said, your clutch spring could be moving out of place. Another thing could be your inside your transmission, or a broken shifter fork inside the transmission syncros. In my old D-Series transmission I would have intermediate problems with not being able to go in gear. It would work some times and not others.

How many miles on your transmission?
Any reason you have a Stage 3 Clutch?
Do you jam gears (drag strip, track, auto X, or spirited drive alot)?

A few things I've noticed when I had a upgraded clutch was mine would make noise when it would be at the friction point. I had taken my transmission off to see if there was a problem and everything was fine. If you didn't have the flywheel resurfaced, or a new one installed, the clutch could experiencing uneven wear, resulting into noise.

Hope this helps.

^^^ That is a good point. I would not rule out mounts either. If it is hard to shift into any gear, does shutting off the engine help? If shutting the engine off helps, that focuses the problem on the clutch again.

we'll as of right now its fine again. the only thing wrong with my transmission is my ISB is ticking, and yes it goes into gear with no grinds. also goes into gear when motor is off. i have a stage 3 for drag racing.syncros would most likely to be determined from grinding or popping out of gear but none of that happens. and yes i have a new flywheel in there also installed at the same time i installed the stage 3 clutch.
