pulled the D...
Well today was my 1st time pulling a motor, I wanted to turn my own wrenches rather than pay some shop to do it. I will say its deffinately not easy, took me 2 hours maybe 2 and a half to jack it up, drain the fluids, unplug everything, unbolt it, and take it out. It's a good feeling and sense of pride IMO to do something like that yourself, hours later I still cant believe I did it. BTW whats a better option for the D? Parting it out or selling the motor and everything as a whole? How much would I be looking to get for it with 135K miles?
I dont have the room otherwise I would. I would love to put it in a shell and then kinda piece the shell together with spare parts and finding cheap parts then sell the car trying to make a little profit.

I do have a crate to ship it on. Last motor shipped from FL to CA was $275. It was actually a full swap so the crate weighed 500lbs. I doubt the D weighs that much even with the axles and shift linkage.
should clean it up, do maintenance, swap it back in and Turbo!
heh, but yeah thats pretty low mileage compared to all the others, i was thinking about swapping a low mileage D series but i couldn't find one for the LIFE of me... zzz
If your parting out, theres lots of stuff to part out
Axles, distributor, starter, intake, sell the head the block, idk.
but if your swapping another d series, keep most of it...

turbo d is actually a real good idea imho.. you already got the d, just put in maybe $2000-$2500 and you'll have a beastly car.. put in even $3000 [price of just the b18c motor] and you could be looking at 300+whp with a good tune
but yea man, congratz on pulling the motor too.. i couldn't do it [even with my manual] and i had to call in some experienced hands, lol.

Well I would be crazy to put the D16Y8 back in when its sitting next to a 98+ Spec B18C Type R. The R motor is just so pretty lol Thats the next build but after I finish off the rest of the car. Selling the D could get my interior finished off.
no state inspection in Florida... yet. I heard something about them trying to push for them to do it which means more than half the cars wont be on the road. Anyone know how many years old the car has to be to get an antique license plate? EF's are probably closing in on it.
