Post bulding d16z6 quest for 350whp+ HELP

hey everyone im just hoping for some more input to my build other than my friends. I've boosted before just never a d16 not that its much different but im sure it is when my quest is 350whp+ so any help would be nice. The reason i chose the d16 to build is simply because my buddy offered to trade me his current boost project for my H22 swap. i was planing on rebuilding it n/a this winter but couldn't say no to boost so i said sure. anyways what i have is a Z6 block(no crank), eagle h beam rods, vitira 8.5:1 pistons, arp 2000 rod bolts, arp head studs, arp flywheel bolts, acl for all bearings, unorthadox crank pulley, new Z6 head (less then 8000 miles) stock Z6 5 speed tranny, inovative motor mounts, and turbo kit. My questions are am i heading in the right direction, will my goal be possible? And what crank would be the best to go with? Also a friend said to sell my Z6 head and get a Y8 he says its the best combo for boost Z6 bottom end and Y8 head? i think he is confused and means the intake manifold because they are the best besides aftermarket. But he said no the head. any thoughts on that? please help me i want to do this build right and no short cuts. i also don't want to spend much more then i would building my h22 n/a because that's my goal to make tons of power out of this little guy for almost the amount i would on the h22 but way more power. mostly i just want to prove to myself it can be done lol.

PS: i'm also pondering the idea of converting to e85. any thoughts on that? im not a dumbass i just want to make sure i can do this with what i have and if not please let me know what i need to do. thanks guys

Kick your friend in the nuts for telling you that a y8 head is better than a z6 head. Just use the z6 head. Beside, if you use the y8 head you'll need one ARP y8 head stud. Stock crank is all you need. I will also ditch the unorthadox crank pulley and use your stock one. Other then that you're pretty much ready for some major boost. Just throw a nice decent turbo on it and you should get your HP goal easily.

As e85 goes you'll need so bigger injectors. I'll suggest the injector dynamic 1000cc with a walbro 255lph fuel pump. And most importantly GET IT TUNE.

haha thanks man yea i was pretty certain the Z6 head was better for obvious reasons but one for sure since its being boosted is more oil feeds. im deffently going to keep the Z6 head i will however swap for the Y8 intake manifold. im also planning on getting a 68mm or bigger blox tb. and yes your right MOST DEFF TUNE!!! not sure on the e85 yet

e85 would probobly be a great choice if it's available in your area... hell I'm thinking about using it if I can convince my buddy to let me fuel up at the city fueling station (DOT not open to public)...

It offers great detonation resistance and allows for a much more agressive tune with a good amount of added safety... definately a good move for a 350+ hp goal... it might be hard to get that on a stock head with pump gas.

I've got a 59300 cam with springs and retainers and am probobly going to do a light P&P to the head and my tuner who's done a bunch of turbo D's is saying not to hope for much if at all over 350 on pump gas...

Oh and although a lot of people say get what you need I think it's better to get 1000cc injectors and call it a day. You're not going to max those out even if you switch to e85... and if they can idle ANY car then they can obviously work fine

GOOD LUCK!

Schister is a mod on here and he's been using E85 for a longtime with stock lines and no problems... I think the line conversion thing is just heresay.

What are the details of the turbo kit?
