Icon2 H22 Bearing Help!!

i have a h22a1 that recenlt spun a rod..sent i to the shop got it fixed..shop used cheap bearings and 1 spun again..i took out the bearings and the crank is still good. so heres were it gets confusing for me..the bearings i took out say ".5" and where from king bearings..they said the crank was shaved down 20k..soo i bought green oem bearings..2 small..i bought black..to small, but less play then the standard green ones..so now the only color left is blue..but before i waste any more money i would like to know if they will fit, or should i go with acl? but then i cant find anywhere that sells acl to match the size i need..any help is appriciated..thanks

How are you measuring if your bearings are sized correctly ? .. You can plastigage. Or are you measuring amount of play ?

Don't guess, you have all the numbers in front of you. Grab a Helms manual and look up the specs that Honda says you should use in relation to your current crankshaft sizing.

do not buy any oem bearings....your connecting rod was regrounded so any oem will not fit because they are meant for stock size cranks it will be a waste of money...u need to get .020'' oversize aftermarket bearings

ok thanks, but 1 question, the bearings that im took out that worked after the regrounding said ".5" does that have anything to do with anything?

i would find another h22 crank that hasn't been ground down and switch back to OEM honda bearings. right now you have to run an oversized bearing

i agree with him ^. itd be a pain in the *** to run one oversized bearing, and thats what you would have to do, unless you got your other three rods machined as well. plastigauge would be very easy to use with a crank and rod out of the block, i would use it if you do plan on going with the rod and crank you already have. you could be sure of the correct bearing size to use.

im guessing the .5'' is the oversize but it don't make sense since u say it was regrounded .020'' oversize....u can get them on ebay....i agree with riceburner....honda cranks go through a special hardening process and once that layer is broken either by scratching or in your case regrounding they are junk and u will prolly gonna have problems with this again...honda cranks and cams are not too good after it has been regrounded
