i was driving home from work and i noticed my radio all of a sudden shut off the my clock. lucky i made it home but now the cars not starting at all not even cranking. could it be the alt?

that would be your battery, once you solve that problem, check to see if your alt is charging the battery.

 

Check your alternator speed sensor fuse. If that's fine, it could be your alternator.

 

I had the same situation last week, it was my battery.
