Default Will Diodes fix my problem (alarm installation wiring related)

Setup: Clifford 50.5x. 1998 Integra

I have the alarm door trigger tied into the ground circuit of the door and it works fine. When I installed the alarm, I also installed a SPST relay the the option circuit of the alarm that keeps the dome light on for 30 seconds after turning off the ignition.

The problem is that this relay grounds the dome light, which the alarm sees as the doors still being open (even when they are closed) and triggers a bypass alert on the door circuit if I arm the system while the dome light is still on.

I have used diodes before, but only on the positive side of a circuit. Can I use them on the ground side to allow the relay to ground the circuit and keep the dome light on without the alarm seeing a signal at the door release pin? If so, which way should I point the diodes?

Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for any help!!!

Jeff

The opposite way you pointed them for +12V.

Just be careful you dont isolate the alarm from the door trigger or isolate it from illuminating the light.
