94 Accord F22b1 Upgrade options?
Sure this question has been asked before and am sorry if i missed the thread.
I decided i am no going to do nothing too crazy with my car since it is a daily driver but curious what i could do to get the most out of the engine without damaging it or killing my fuel economy. I already have a cat back exhaust at 2.5" and putting a 4-2-1 DC Sport header so that should finish the exhaust. Just curious if anyone has some suggestions that HAS done it and knows from experience and not just a opinion or " i read...". Would be willing to do a turbo but again not at the expensive or ruining the engine from the extra HP or killing MPG. Right now i get a average of 23 MPG in city and 30 MPG Hwy and would like to stay in that general range. Yeah i know you can have one or the other but not both, but like i said just trying to improve what i have.
Not looking to build a FAST AND NERDIOUS 10 sec car but to just get the most out of what i have. I am running a stock F22b1 and know that you can go crazy with it but that is not my goal... Yet LOL! J/K

that might decrease your fuel economy but very slightly, but not that noticeable..
it'd still be w/in or close to your general range of 23/30...
Intake, header, and exhaust is basic first upgrades. None of those should kill your MPGS. They're just retrieving lost power and helping the entire motor breathe easier. If anything, MPGs will go up. Don't drive dumb, and your gas mileage will be fine. As for intakes, just buy an ebay intake pipe with a good filter. The piping doesn't matter, it's the filter that makes the difference.
Yeah guess i forgot to mention on original post that i was going to do intake as well, i already have the header just need to install and the cat back is already on installed. just curious if there was anything else worth doing besides that?
As soon as you add more air your ECU will add more fuel. that usually equates to lower MPG. It's all in how you drive the car. If your on it all the time then your MPG will go down.
I had a CAI, ported intake manifold, 4-2-1 DC Header, full 2.5" exhaust w/cat & larger injectors (255cc). Power gains were roughly 15-20 whp. (No Graph sorry. I used an accelerometer) It was nice to rip around town but nothing to write home about. MPGs were down in the 18-20 range.

Out of curiosity anyone know if i did do a small turbo at lets say 10 lbs of boost roughly how good or bad would my my MPG would be?
and yeah i know that the driver makes a HUGE difference and for the most part i usually just tool around slowly, (guess i am still use to low riders more than anything still) usually about 30 in a 35. unless there is traffic (I'm not that annoying guy)
i just want to be able to drive it around like i do now but when i feel like playing a little i know i have something to play with. not trying to do the fastest thing around just fast enough to play with if the mood should arise, i am not trying to go crazy with a daily driver. maybe down the road if i get a new car than maybe i can turn this into the toy but for now i have to make sure i can make it work M-F without going broke in the process

I know you said you don't want to sacrifice your MPG too much and as well as money. But, to really have fun, I would advise you to get the Bisi Stage 2 cam. I know its more expensive but hey, you'll love it even more.
Like GhostAccord said, the more air you add, the more fuel it will need; therefore, the ECU will add more fuel. Either way, the more mods you do, the lower the MPG will get.

Baseline versus untuned level 2 installed: 141whp, 146 ft/lbs...a 17whp gain!
I'll PM you back right now
The gains from a Bisimoto camshaft on your motor will be very similar to the gains on a F22a1(within 3-5 HP)
Here is the Level 2 for a F22a1 motor:
F22A non vtec 1992 accord with I/H/E and our level 2 camshaft: 149whp, 140ft/lbs tq

well since that was a CF hood i wouldn't paint it. and second i got rid of that hood and back to a OEM hood. and i am repainting the entire car, just not sure yet if i want to do a 2 tone or just repaint the same color. My biggest problem with the 2 tone is not sure what color would look with the stock paint
