Componet test, HELP HT gurus
cant get any attention on my last thread, but its kinda cunfusing.
Heres my deal... I do know a **** load about hondas and wiriing, this may be a stupid simple issue, it may not. Im SO lost with it.
H23v into civic ek.
Im getting a Crank Position Malfuntion code. not low or high volts but malfuntion.
I had the sensors out, TDC tested good, and so did the Crank Position sensor.
Tested resistance on both and the Vantage said it was good.
I wired (4 wires) the sensors direct to the ecu. tried many different obd2 and obd1 ecus.
Cannot get past this code, and cant rev past 3500, and its not a solid light, acts like limp mode...
So i checked wiring, and sensors and ecus. what else can i check?
HELP please, I know there are some real smart Honda guys on HT

H23 VTEC bluetop? If so, Delete the crank sensor at the timing cover. Use an OBD1 distributor (internal crank sensor). And then wire it as an OBD1 to an OBD1 ECU. I had the same problem on an F20b Bluetop. Worked great!
Its not a blue top. its a h22a4 head on a h23a1 block.
everything that touches the timing belt was swaped h22.
even the oil pump to retain the spots to screw in the sensors

well, no crank code with a obd2 p13, but i do get a crank code with a obd2 p72.
Id go with the obd1 conversion, but how would i time it? I have an after market flywheel.

**** it!
Guess ill go obd1, this ****in sucks.
I hate being stumped. and this is the first time I have ever thrown in the towel.
the stroke change should not mess with the goddamn crank position sensor!
*raises white flag*
