whats up all ... well I just finished my gsr build and have no CEL's, car runs GREAT except that I have a jumpy tach when I'm driving (not so much when I'm parked although will jump if revved and kept around 3k rpm) and no v-tech (just took it to 5500 once and thats it since it's a new build I don't wanna mess with it) ...
do any of you know if the ls and gsr igniters are the same? I had to use an ls igniter (icm) since my gsr dizzy didn't come with any internals ...
I've been told it could be the speed sensor on my thread and am going to take the speed sensor off the tranny tomorrow and clean it like someone suggested.
Any other input would be great though, thanks!

As far as jumpy tach issues go, it could be the throttle positioning sensor on your throttle body or the speed sensor on the tranny. Most likely the speed sensor since the tach isn't jumpy during idle.

Don't forget to actually look at the pins inthe VSS itself as sometimes they can get bent and not make a proper connection causing your VSS to malfunction. Good luck!

ok so I took off the top part of the vss and cleaned it ... still nothing.
I'm afraid of taking off the whole thing from the tranny, will it just go back into place from the top? no need to take apart tranny? haha

took your advice and took a look at the igniter and the blue wire was not as tight as it could have been so I crimped it with some pliers, put it back on and it works PERFECT now.
I figured it was something electrical too, thanks!
