Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've logged on to HT.
Have a 1996 Accord with I/H/E, F23 IM and bored TB. Just got my bisimoto stage2 VTEC cam and cam gear in and getting ready to get it dropped in and tuned. Looked around and one of the few local guys that does dyno tuning and he only has Crome available to tune with.
Now I've heard mostly good things about Crome, but there has been a couple people who swear against it like there's no tomorrow. Reason I think I might be going with this in spite of the perhaps negative opinion I've heard, is the guy is willing to get me an OBD1 ECU chipped and dyno-tuned for like $475.
Any feedback is more than appreciated.
Edit: Also opinions on deleting or keeping the EGR? I know it marginally effects power output at best, but only reason I'd do it is to help clean up my engine bay. We don't have emissions testing where I live and I do my own vehicle inspections anyway :D
Thanks again!

Crome is ok for basics, but most people outgrow the basics and the bugs with time. If you're being tuned by someone you think is a skilled tuner, go with what he recommends since you won't be touching the tune yourself. If he can get the job done safely on something he recommends, then that's one of the best options for you.
If you go with crome you have no opinion on deleting the EGR. Crome will not run your EGR valve, so it will be non-functional.

Cool thanks for the input, I'd imagine Crome would be fine for my setup as it's just a basic tune for my car with just bolt on's and a cam. Hoping to get it done ASAP as I've been waiting to get my car spinning some tires for too long
As JR stated, as long as the tuner knows what they are doing with Crome it should turn out just fine. There are definitely benefits from running some of the other programs out there, but for a rather simple setup it should be ok.
Most people (myself included) got tired of messing around with the program because of the bugs, which can make tuning time consuming and frustrating. You shouldn't have to worry about the stability of the tuning program when you have tuning the car to worry about.

Crome is good. I would however recommend you tune on crome GOLD as it is more stable/safe in terms of ignition timing. I have tuned countless cars with gold with no issues.
