Default Help with a radiator issue

Today while changing my brothers coolant I ran into an issue. I was trying to break the drain plug on the block. I broke it but the "follow through" with the breaker bar hit the overflow line and actually snapped the little bung off. (Where the line from the overflow resevoir connects to the rad just below the cap. What are my options here? Just a replacement radiator? It is an oem radiator.

Its needs to be air tight so it can draw the coolant back into the radiator when the block cools down.

Yeah... How do I restore that airtightr condition? Do I have to replace the whole radiator because I snapped that bung off?

Probably, if your lucky you try to use JB Weld or some kind of epoxy to glue it back on. Try to find a metal rod to fit inside the broken piece to the radiator. If you are able to find the right size, lightly oil the metal rod so the epoxy won't stick to it when glue it together. It a cheap way out, but getting a new radiator may be in the future.

Indeed. The first civic I bought came with a JB welded radiator, and I didn't realize. I was cruizing down the highway and it blew up everywhere. Just replace it.

Yeah. Tried a coat hanger and epoxy to gain somewhere near normal function of the overflow reservior... No good. I'd hafta hold the damn thing there for three hours while the epoxy cured. So stupid that I broke that little piece and ruined an otherwise good rad. I knew I had turned a 20 minute task into hours of work when I checked it out. Thanks for the confirmation guys.
