H22/H23 hybrid problems, died and won't start up anymore.
so i did an h22 head swap on my h23 block. i am new to working on engines so i dove into this project to try and gain experience as well as doing something fun for my prelude. i had a completely stock 92 prelude with an h23a1 non vtec engine and my goal was to put the vtec head on the non vtec block with all the other little conversions too like the intake and exhaust manifolds, waterpump and pipe, etc.
Since i completed the swap in august it ran fine for about a month and a half except for the fact that my cousin when taking off the h23 head he knicked the knock sensor and it broke. so it lagged a bit but ran fine if i didnt get on the throttle. but of course i did every now and then and it was fine (besides the limpping engine). i was told by a honda mechanic that it would limp the engine but it would still be able to run.
then one night in october i pushed it a little just through 2nd gear. i know it was stupid and i've already gotten the talking to from my buddies. after i pushed it and was slowing down it just went to sleep as i pulled into a parking lot. i tried starting it again but it wouldnt spark up. it turns over but wont start. then i pulled the plugs to see if they were fouled up and they had a little coolant on them. which points to a blown head gasket right?
i've been told that the coolant got into the cylinders and thats what seized up the engine.
the next day i tried to bump start it as it was getting pulled on a tow strap and of course because it was getting pulled it ran the engine and as i tried giving it gas it just would start to die. then someone said the valves were bent but the timing belt wasnt broken so i dont see how this could've happened.
if you have any ideas on what might've happened please let me know. any ideas would help so i can find what happened and fix it hopefully
