im boosting my ls on 7 pounds im im rebuilding the motor and i was wondering if the stock internals are good enough for 7 pounds or should i go better?

 

There is no answer to this.
7psi means nothing.
Different sized turbos pushing 7psi will result in different power gains.
7psi would only mean something if you stated the turbo specs.

How much power are you putting down to the wheels?
What engine is this?
If it's a D-series motor then 220hp is what they are reliably good for on a good engine.

 

OP said he is boosting on his LS.

Plan ahead, because I'v seen this so many times, "I just want to run 10psi for now that will be fine" and then about 3 or 4 months down the road you want to up to 15psi because it feels "slow". Give yourself some room to grow.

There are people running 250-300whp on stock bottom end.

Remember running a FI car alot will ride on how well the car is tuned. DO NOT skimp on the cash for the tune. A "basemap" will not cut it.

So tired of people boosted or going to boost that don't even take time to learn what boost is and asking 'psi' this and 'psi' that. blaaaahhh.

 

I got 800 HP out of my stock LS running 20psi of DA BOOOOOST!!! (Oh wait we weren't talking about LS1's?)
