Default computer reset

How do you reset the ecu of a 1994 honda civic ex.. My reason to reset the ecu is that i heard if you reset the ecu when installing a cold air intake, the rpm will run higher..True or False?

Pros and cons about resetting the ecu would be nice..

I just disconnect my battery for about 3 minutes to re-set. Your rpm will not change though. Slap whoever told you that lol...
