Default CivicR Pistons

anyone of you guys running the PCT B16B on a b16a motor?
according to c-speedracing.com the compression with these will be 10.8, everything else stock.

that is a nice upgrade. If you are starting from stock tho, CTR cams might be a better.

yup, no different than running a b16b motor ... call it a cheap man's b16b (b16a with ctr pistons and ctr cams).

I've done it many times and milled as much as 30 thous to get compression really up there, pumped out about low 190's at wheels on a customers b16a.

Greg

i was thinking just about that! dropping the CTR cams and pistons, with a 2 layer spoon gasket for starters. i could also consider milling the head a bit.

what rpm can i safelly do with some the ITR valve springs?

CTR cams give power up to about 8500 rpms, the ITR valvesprings will have no problem with that.
with CTR pistons and a thinner head gasket you should yield about 11.5.1 compression
if everything is dynoed correctly you will be looking at about 170-180 whp

according to c-speedracing calculator, the compression with CTR pistons and 2 layer gasket should be 11.1...

i was thinking of doing 9300rpms..

The B18C type-r rods will raise CR ?
Do they fit perfectly ?

With B16a2 pistons and type-r rods, what whould be the CR ?

Thanks,

I'm thinking drop the JUN 3''s in B16a with PCT pistons but wondering is there any clearance issue, some ppl say prefect and some ppl has blown the motors.

I wish I had witnessed what people say happens with Jun 3's they say it snaps timing belts yadda yadda.. but if you engine is midily built I wouldn't run anything more than Jun 2's it will make sufficent power for a street car

I think the Todas B and C are known for snapping timing belts. JUN cams are know to just break..
