Why should I pic a Accord over a MAX...?
I want something comfy, right now Im thinking Auto. (Dont ask), 4 DR, Quality, Somewhere around $10,000, aftermarket support is good.Oh and somewhat quick.
I was think a 97' Accord EX 4Dr White or black with grey leather. The thing is No Torque.
Or a 97' Maxima SE Auto. Has Torque but damn its bulky looking to me.It looks like it has ground effects. That and even the owners admit the build quality is not as good as the accord.
So what should I do?
Accord + Turbo or + H22.But its auto so itll probaly still be slow.
I thought about a 97' Accord V6 becasue it does have torque (Ive driven one) but its only got 170 HP and no aftermarket support what so ever.
Thanks

The accord and maxima are in different classes. One is cheaper than the other. If you want aftermarket, and a fun ride, buy the accord (not 5th gen V6). You want to be comfy with lots of factory power and amenities, buy a Maxima.
I want an in between really.I love Hondas but damn there slow stock.I like the way they look too.
I like the maximas power and power options but dont really like the look.
Hmmm
Besides the Camry what other cars are around the same class?

I got my 99 Accord for a little over 10K w/ fairly low miles and 5 spd. Lots of fun for a 4 dr 4 banger. I was surprised how much power it DOES have! Take one for a test drive.....
I know lots of people say Maxima has good power, but with my experience I have to say Accord is way better.
I happened to live with a 98 Maxima SE auto for a month (borrowed from my employer). The auto tranny really made the car feel like it lost tons of power. The tranny just doesn't react quick. Suspension is soft (not as soft as Camry). There is no steering response. Gets crappy gas mileage. Bad braking response.
Maybe I am too used to my Integra. In comparison, the Maxima sucks. But then, except for power, my wife's 00 Accord EX I4 does everything better than the Maxima too... so it is up to you.

I was surprised at the stock power from my 5-speed Accord too. I have 2 buddies that both have Maxima's. One has a 97 SE and one has a 98 SE. After driving my car they both want to ditch theirs. Neither of them have had great reliability with them. Right before I bought my Accord I was looking at the Maxima's too. Good Luck with your decision.
I love my mom's Maxima (V6-not sure of trim level) and it's decently quick. It feels really floaty compared to my Accord (when it was stock). It has nice smooth acceleration but IMHO I would take the Accord anyday. That is why I have had 5 of 'em.
Go with a boosted H22 Accord or get John's Accord

if you want all out low power(torque), definately go with the max. the accord won't offer massive torque at low rpms. but if you want style, much better handling and overall a great car the car accord wins in my book. the max is just quick in my opinion, and theres more to a car than have a fast shitbox on wheels.
Have nobody driven the new gen v6 accord? [98-02] Those things rock! you'll forget about ANY 4cyl, maxima or accord after driving a v6. 200hp, 195lbs/ft. Take one of the highway, and then throw it threw some turns. You'll be impressed, I was. Im a chevy man threw and threw, v8's are what I live for. 415hp, 430lbs/ft from my 383. But look at my daily driver, a accord V6!
Well, Ive driven a bunch of cars, but in my family since Ive been driving Ive got:
1978 chevy c10 [415hp]
79 chevy c10 [300hp]

99 miata
02 accord v6
84 buick lesabre

j/k man.
You've driven Miatas and Integras and you like how the Accord V6 handles? Granted it better than a LeSabre or Intrepid, but giving it that much props?
