Crome Advanced Maps FAQ/PDF, etc.
Does one exist for sort of guiding you through changing these things? I'm relatively new and am starting to play around with things on my car (just took EFI 101, Advanced to follow in a few weeks). A lot of the tables say DON'T CHANGE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR YOUR CAR WILL EXPLODE AND KILL EVERYONE. I'd like to know how to go about changing them responsibly without killing everyone.

are there specific settings you're wondering about? I think most are pretty self explanatory so if there is something specific you have a question about just ask the question.
Well I started reading through Xenocron's Crome Start-Up Guide and I got to the part with the Injector Battery Offset tables and I'm kind of confused as to what this is representing. How is the battery affecting the pulse sent to the fuel injectors? I thought the ECU sent out it's own signal which I assume runs from the alternator in conjunction with the battery but I can't understand how a battery affects the amount of fuel that needs to be injected.

IGN table settings for, as the motor gets hotter the ign is retarded.
The idle settings and the cyl fuel trim.
Leave everything else alone.

From what I understand fuel trim should only be messed with if you have 4 EGT probes in the header
IGN vs. Coolant temp is pretty easy to understand. As motor temp goes up the chance of autoignition goes up so you want to pull timing.
As for Battery Offset the Xenocron guide says:
OFFSET is an additive multiplier that applied to the Battery Voltage Offset tables. This number in combination with the Final Fuel Multiplier value is critical to getting the maps extremely close from the start, as well as proper idling properties. When you first start the car on the basemap, use these two values only to get the car to start and idle properly before changing ANY of the fuel values in the maps. Use whole numbers in the offset box but understand that what you are doing is adding a pulse of the number you add times divided by 100. For example, we added 45 to our offset box to start, which means we are adding 0.45 to our battery offset tables.

Also, with the cylinder fuel trim you want to have four thermistors in the different runners, correct? Then you would adjust the various fuel trims to get the temperatures as close as possible. I'm assuming adding more fuel decreases runner temp and reducing fuel leans out the mixture and lowers the temperature.

I usually mess with battery offset, moving idle, and idle vs ect in the advanced tables, and thats it.
