Default Hondata Air Box Mod?

I have been doing a lot of research on CAI's and SRI's and came to believe the AEM V2 is probably my safest bet.

That was until I read something about a DYI SRI...

Any suggestions, pictures, or links?

v2 is a waste of money , injen cai is the best purchase u can make for an intake, dont drive into a flood and youll be fine.

Go to Hondata.com and look at the DIY there for their air box mod. Dave has the air box mod and he seems to swear by it

I'm thinking of selling my Injen SRI and making the Hondata mod w/ K&N filter.

they all have there benefits just depends what you want for your car. Like why soe peeps prefer short ram over reg. intake . just depends what you want for your car. I have had and still have these items, spoon drop in filter it's ok. gutted air box and spoon air filter felt a little better than stock, bit more response . aem intake. felt it in higher rpm but i did a mid pipe install so hard to say loss torque but love higher rpms's. last and currently on is comptech air box feels little better than gutted out air box. I modded a spoon air filter to fit it when comptech filter is being cleaned. But again hard to say since had the mid pipe install

I do swear by it!!!!!!!! Its a great free mod that will create a certain amount of power. Obviously you be blown away by the amount of power but I noticed a difference in the mid range of the powerband. The thing is that it create a little bit of extra noise but nothing like a CAI or SRI will.

I do like the sound of a CAI or SRI but for me I rather spend my money on a good RH instead of 200-300 on an intake when the Hondata Air Box mod is sufficient!

This. Save your money on intakes and focus on other mods that will actually net more hp.

the v2 seems to make "vtec crack" because it sits in you engine bay much closer to you

I might be getting a v2 since the RBC mani killed my CAI

So if this rumor is true, would making holes in my muffler make me faster ?

Try it and come tell us... btw if you make holes in your bumper you have a better top speed!

You should try all this and then take pics and post up here :D

I have a CAI, and went back to a gutted box with the k&n and it's not bad at all. Don't really miss my CAI too much.

i did it and it does help the mid range alot
and if you want even better results make a custom airscoop and get cooler air from somewhere else to the stock airbox

(when you do the mod for yourself what i just said will make sense)

save your money for better things like coilovers or kpro

Completed the Hondata Air Box Mod seems to have a smoother accel in the mid range and slightly throater sound. Next thing is throw a K&N in it Personal opinion, not a fan of CAI for daily drivers too much exposure to water. I live in IL its been raining for 3 days straight lol

I had this mod for while but now I switched to an Injen MR intake and there is a bigger difference in the power distribution. I'm liking the Injen more but it does come at a price!

I don't regret doing the Air Box mod as it serve me good till I had enough $$$ to get the Injen.

CAI is my fav mod but if I go to G-stock I'll need to do the airbox thing. this was my main concern so hopefully I won't miss it.
