replacing a water temp sensor
93 accord lx
How do I go about replacing this?
I have the part in my hand.
I took a pic, is it the green plug on the right?

Your car should have three coolant temperature sensors. That one on the housing to the upper radiator hose should be the sensor to turn the radiator fan on after the car is shut off, if a certain temperature is exceeded.
There is another one on the thermostat housing which is to turn the radiator fan on when the engine is running, if a certain temperature is exceeded.
I believe both these radiator fan switches are removed with a 24mm wrench, after you unplug the electrical connector. You may have to add some coolant and bleed air from the system afterward.
The third sensor is a smaller one, under the distributor (IIRC), which is for the instrument gauge and ECU.
Here is a link with some info.

Note: As the link states, a broken thermostat can disable the radiator fan.

The one shown in the picture (on the water housing outlet) is for the "A/C Fan time switch". The other one (on the thermostat housing) is for the "radiator fan". The two switches are different and not interchangeable.

just gave it a go, looks like the dizzy might have to come out.
I like hondas, but their wire harnesses sometimes **** me off.
Kept squeezing the harness but couldn't pop the dam thing out.

After 2 nice deep cuts into my finger from a screw driver slipping and a couple of hours, I finally got the dam sensor out and replaced.
Didn't have the tools I needed to get the dizzy or dizzy cap out.
The back screws were a bit difficult to get to with the tools I had.
Sensor is replaced with a new OEM one and I unplugged the batt for about 15 mins to clear the ecu, codes etc..
Hopefully this fixes the issue
