Default Help with craigslist ripoff

So I was driving home yesterday and a girl pulled a hit and run on me, launching me into a median ultimately phucking up my fender and cracking my ICW 17" rim. I found a guy on craigslist with 4 lugs, that would help "dress up your honda, hyundai, or toyota. They are 14" rims but the bolt pattern didn't match up, we paid $120 cash for rims and decent amount of tread left, and brought these bad boys home. Bolt pattern is not 4x100 like the douche said, they are 4x114.3...spent the last of my money for these and now i'm screwed with rims that are too big, until Thursday when I get paid. Any ideas of how to get them to fit, or should I just try and resell them on CL or FB marketplace?

we have a junk yard here that is pretty decent but they only sell the rims, so i'd have to go get tires on them. Now he won't answer his phone or anything so I can get the money back. This is Lincoln, NE not some ghetto **** town, thats why this is blowing my mind. Oh well. I guess I'll try selling them back on craigslist.

lol. you payed, and walked away with them. It's kind of your fault. The guy may have been stupid, but by no means does he owe you anything. That's something that should have been checked before purchase. Good luck, and try on your wheels next time. Aftermarket wheels vary too much to trust unless you saw it come off another civic.

"ghetto shet town"
WHOSE CRYING OVER $120 and you wanna talk about ghetto?
Cheap ars whats wrong with ghetto's. You should have dignity and stop asking for your money back like you are 6 years old. You should have bought new since your so rich
You know people are only going to laugh at you for ....
1. Getting ripped off on craigslist
2. Crying for your money back
3. Not knowing your own lug pattern
4. And acting like your neighborhood is so better than a ghetto
Good day sir

to fastrxu, I know my own lug pattern, so why don't you do us a favor and jog on, I was looking for advice from seasoned h-ters not haters. I say that, because generally people are very upstanding in Lincoln, and it seems like I was caught by the one guy who would pull one over. I regret insulting him since he did eventually call me back and apologized for lying about the bolt pattern, which was listed at 4x100, he said he didn't think anyone would notice...verbatim. since they were 10 cm off why don't you flame someone else's post. IF you didn't happen to read the post, I was just in an accident, and already paid for the new fender, and buying 4 new wheels/tires aren't cheap. So the $120 I have till Thursday was going towards getting me one wheel but with the option of 4, I figure I'd take the bargain, so **** off.

Hey now...Lets keep the hostility to a minimum. Now you know that you should always "try before you buy".

Also to think that your "area is nice so the people must be too" is kinda ignorant. It doesn't matter where you live, theres always someone willing to **** over the guy who thinks "nobody would scam me". I've lived in ghetto *** places and nice *** places, you can get screwed anywhere. Especially on craigslist. Gotta figure that half the rich guys in richland got it through morally shady business...

agreed. so since he called back, did he also refund your money? or did he apologize then not answer your calls once again?

Dude my bad; but you lend yourself to certain flaming.

Had you not implied that scammers and crooks only live/operate in ghetto neighborhoods, i would have wished you the best of luck and went on to the next post.
So you're right lets keep the thread to tech advice. No more talking bout "ghetto's or me calling people cheap"
No hard feelings
