Default Can Launch Control Damage Wideband Sensor?

I was setting up my launch control/2-step tonight, and I think all of the bombing through the exhaust may have destroyed my already old wideband sensor.

That idea made perfect sense until I thought about the fact that I couldn't remember anyone mentioning that problem to my knowledge in the past. . . Is it common, or not?

Thanks in advance!

I've read in a F/I book that it can happen but I've never personally seen it.

Okay, thanks! I think this is probably just a regular sensor failure (AEM). I was way overdue anyway I guess. . .

I've had fuel+ign cut running for a while, and it makes some vicious backfires when I hit redline. The sensor is still fine after 5k miles of that. Given that's half the recommended life of a typical WB sensor in a turbo car, I don't think it's a big issue.

One difference between my car and other peoples' is it's tuned to never dip below 11.5:1, and cruises at 15-16:1. So it never has any excess fuel to burn directly off the sensor element.

I have never blown a sensor from Anti-Lag, but I have exploded a few exhaust gaskets from using it.

Thanks guys!

From all of this I think I'm probably just dealing with a sensor that was ready to go for whatever reason (which could easily just be amount of use in a turbo app).

I use my AFR as a safety with MegaSquirt such that if it goes above predetermined AFRs at different pressures it shuts the system down. Consequently, I have to have an operable wideband if I want to have fun! LOL. . .

Later, and thanks for the input!

Man, I've been running without launch control for about a year, and really never used it much at all after I got my new sensor. Today I got launch setup again, and after a few seconds of testing my settings my damn sensor seems to be shot again.... Ugh.

I didn't have many miles on this one since I'm on my third motor in the past year, and I'm the world's slowest motor builder. Lol.
