Default D16Z donor car

I am able to get the motor out of a 93 civic ex auto. When I take the motor out what else do I need from the car?

take the engine, intake and exhaust manifolds (including the downpipe), the ecu, the ecu wiring harness, the flywheel and clutch, the fuel filter.

it wont have a clutch if its an auto you use your crx flywheel and clutch anyway with the crx tranny

if you can keep the car around until the motor swap is done, you'll be thankful. you never know when you need an extra bolt, wiring plug, etc.

This will be a one time shot getting the motor. Just want to make sure I get everything I need the first time.

You don't want the automatic ECU, and you don't need the wiring harness, flywheel and clutch, or fuel filter. Get a MANUAL tranny 92-95 p28 (or you'll throw codes), you use your stock si harness, even if you convert to OBD-I, but ya get the exhaust manifold and downpipe, but not the intake. get a shortram or CAI. the EX intake won't work with your car. You can use the 92-95 clutch as long as you use the flywheel from that car, or you can use your Si. 88-89 si clutches are smaller than 90-91 though.

I'm running a 96 flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch disk with my 89 tranny

Or a mini-me swap would be easier and produce more hp due to higher compression. Plus no headaches with setting up the wire harness!

I beg to differ. All the mini-me's I've seen are ghetto rigged with the stock Si computer and run slow, not to mention that many I've seen break. IMO, do the full sohc vtec swap with the right ECU and you'll hand nearly every mini-me it's *** on the dragstrip. I saw a Civic with a mini-me and it was only pulling 15.7-15.8. Read my sig. Nearly stock D16Y8 pulling 15.2. That's as quick or quicker than many ZC's.
