bumper dampener
Pretty sure its there to absorb some impact in the event of a collision. Why remove it? Wouldn't you feel a little silly if you removed it and got into an accident thus sustaining more damage?!
I'm pretty sure that is to dampen the vibrations that run through the entire car....5th gen right? Remove it and the car may vibrate a bit more, so it's really up to you.
None of my friends have noticed excess vibration. Its retardedly heavy but I'm sure cuts down on some rattles and squeaks. Everyone I know takes them off and doesn't notice anything.
