Default Crusie control installation.

Sorry, searched but didn't come up with anything. A little help would be appreciated.

I have a 96 DX. I drive long distances quite often and would love to install cruise control on the car. Has anyone done this? Any links that you may know of? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

well of course you can do it, just like saying you want to upgrade to abs or something like that. you would just need to buy all the cruise control components, and install them. hitting up a junkyard would be your best bet.

Isn't worth it.

The engine bay would be the easy part. Then you have to worry about wiring switches, relays, etc to make the electrical part work.

Any reasonable aftermarket solutions that anyone knows about?

I really want to do this.

not to my knowledge what so ever. there is a lot you need to be able to have cruise control, and it is not really profitable for a company to make a kit when most cars have that standard as it is.

You're best bet is to source a car that has it, rip out all the wiring harnesses interior and engine as well as the cruise control parts.

That donor car would need to be an LX or Special Edition. That way you have the same motor, ecu, etc.

*edit* And I was in the same boat as you, I did the H swap in my EX and as a result lost cruise control. I didn't bother to put it in my DX because of the trouble. I either trashed the parts or gave to new owner.
