My engine is leaking oil from the top...i see a little bit of oil where it is leaking. The engine is all black due to oil and grease, i guess......how can i get rid of that and make my engine shiny?

 

determine where its coming from? valve cover gasket? $15.
after that then get engine degreaser and spray it on and the pressure wash it off

i dont know... i don't think it's any of those...i'll go take a picture of it later

 

sounds like the infamous valve cover gasket. check all ur seals dizzy o ring,vtec solenoid,cam seal. use dereaser and pressure wash it off and run it alil bit and see where its coming from and fix it.

 

go to auto zone or advanced n get engine degreaser to clean then see where its coming from

 

I would say that the valve cover is the big one, but I had a bad gasket on my vtec solenoid and that thing leaked everywhere. Originally thought that it was the distributor, but bought a can engine bright and cleaned a small portion of my engine to determine the leak.
Also, while it may not be the solenoid gasket itself if the spool valve is not screwed on tight enough that will also cause a nasty leak.
