Default gas mileage tips.

hey, guys, i need some tips here. i get around 17-18 mpg on my 99 civic dx. i just bought spark plugs and a distributor cap and it should come in soon. after those come in i will see if my mpg goes up at all. other than that do you have any suggestions on what else i can replace to get some extra miles (except drive like an 90 yr. old)

Do a full tune up. Change your air fliter , oil, spark wires, plugs, rotor, and especially that damm PCV valve. That little thing kills alot of miles. Also can be your o2. But u really got crappy *** mileage. I get 35mpg on my 95 civic with vtec and bolt on's. even with my old rusty oem fuel filter. Oh yeah cange the fuel filter also.

Thats the best advice i can give.

do as most have said with a full tune up

make sure you have the tire pressure up, if you really want better mileage up the psi to max sidewall, go to 0w30 syn oil, drive briskly to your target speed and keep that speed LOW that will kill mpg ridiculously!

i already have a cold air intake, new oil filter, new oil, new spark plugs coming in, and i need a pcv valve and i should be set. so with the pcv valve and the spark plugs and rotor i should be getting better mileage right?

My guess would be yes...but take in mind if you have a faulty o2 sensor..that wont help. Do u have any CEL's?

O2 is usually a mjaor cause, take it to the dealer and have theme clean the IM runners ans header. This does work as I experience it first hand.

driving habits are going to be the biggest factors, and judging by the other threads i have saw from you, you drive your car very hard, drive it like a grandma, and i promis your mpg will increase.

^^ how i got the conclusion, is becuase you have said it in past threads dont you read??
im judging you at all, i really dont care what you do with your car,
yes from time to time i will push my car a little hard and yes i get any where from 25-30 miles around town.
also how i got to my conclusion is YOUR GETTING 17MPG!!!!!!!!!!! inless your car is a complete peice of ****, and runs super freaking rich you should be getting way better then that, therefor you most be driving the car hard!

thats what you always say, no one helps me!
i siad you drive your car very hard, this is a main reason why your getting shitty mpg,
you push your car cause its a honda lol and a bit? that is not going to give you 17mpg...
