Magnaflow Oval Muffler - Please post pics!
I went to the muffler shop earlier today and took a look at the magnaflow ovals (4x9x14)... My goodness, they're pretty small and a little on the ugly side. Anyone have a picture of theirs on their R? Painted black? By the way, you can find the magnaflow 5x8x14 for $83 bucks at http://www.bestautopartsonline.com.
I might just go with the ES Tuning ovals which look a little bigger and better, although not as good quality and a little more expensive. Any opinion on their sound?

Uhm, just for your information, that is not a magnaflow nor es muffler. That is off of nwp4life's car and it's a greddy sp, I think, with the tip cut off.

I have a 2.5" Magnaflow 4x9 oval on my civic. First thing i hear from people is that it looks like an ugly stock muffler. Sounds pretty decent, on the outside its somewhat deep until vtec and then it gets kinda blatty (or at least thats what my friend says) - that may also have to do with the 2.5" piping and carsound cat. I'm happy with the muffler itself though, especially the "ugly stock" look of it.

Actually its an ES Oval. I've heard this car personally and it sounds great. Check http://www.jdmhondaparts.com in 'autoland' to see more of his car that is for sale.

SMSP - Who thinks that's just enough of the shiny stuff on a sports car because this ain't no Buick and I wouldn't want the police taking a second look.

Are you planning to just get the muffler for stock exhaust? For stock exhaust (2.25inch piping) it might just sound right enough and relieve some backpressure.
For 2.5inch piping its going to get loud, even with resonators.

I'm running the Magnaflow Oval Street series. It has a 2.25" inlet and oulet with a silencer welded inside. I had the silence removed so it is 2.25 straight through. The sound is alot better than I expected. Actually its alot better than my Old style Comptech muffler. From the outside, it has a deep smooth sound. Its alot lounder from the inside of the car.
The tip is double rolled angle tip. The only mistake I did was I ordered the 7" tip as opposed to the 4" tip. This results in 3" of tip sticking out from the rear.

those are pics of your exhaust systems, right? So I assume you use Magnaflow pipes, etc. and then do the bends yourself?
