Default OT. Dirty little British cars..

So I try to get the Lotus down to the exhaust shop ( straight pipe right now )
and the glass shop ( no windshield ).

So I run the car accross town to my exhaust appt, and wouldn't you know it I have a ghost car infront of me the whole way.. But he never looked back and saw that I had no w/s.. I pull off into the exhaust shop with a sigh of relief ( this thing is unbelievably loud with a straight pipe ) and we get the car up on the hoist and the smell of fuel is overpowering..

The fuel tank leaks ( apparently ) and there is about a half inch of fuel sloshin around in the trunk. ARRGGGH! So needless to say no exhaust work done today. So the shop lends me a fire ext. and I have to drive the obnoxious beast home and rip out the tank.. turns out the tank is ok, just the sender gasket leaking..

I'll try again tomorrow..

Lotus.. who feels like he is using up his nine lives in a hurry!

If a cop stops you, just tell him you are on your way to the muffler shop. For once you can use this line and be telling the truth

Hey.. what do you know... Tank is fixed and the exhaust is on now...and it has a windshield also! Having an exhaust really smoothed the motor out, and now I can open her up a bit without drawing so much attention..

Lotus.. who smoked through two gears trying to get out into traffic leaving Budget brake and muffler.. oops..

Lovely!

*ahem* pics, please?

Reminds me of when the fuel tank in my Ghia was leaking. And it was right in front of the cockpit!
