bad window seal new to this
hey guys i just got a 2002 ep3 civic si hatch. it has a bad window seal on the drivers side if thats what you call it. its the rubber part thats all around the door and the window seal in to it you know? its from someone trying to break in to the car. any DIY's on this forum on how to change it or a website where i can buy a new seal? this is my first post and i had trouble finding anything about the seal in the search engine. also the plastic part on the door thats right by the window is coming off as well. please help!
It's normally a dealer item. Installation is somewhat simple if you got your own tools. The interior door panel has to come off, Phillips screw driver and a pick will do. Unplug all switches, pull apart the plastic weather insulation from the door, then plug in the window switch to raise or lower the window in order to see the two 10mm bolts and remove them. Don't let the window come crashing down so be careful. Pull the glass outta' the door and set aside. Now just pull the seal off. It shouldn't have any screws or any to keep you from doing it. You may have to remove your mirror in order to get a better more satisfying fit. I then grab a can of silicone spray and spray the new one down thoroughly before installing to make it easier to attach. Repeat the steps backwards to finish the job. hope this helps, good luck.
