Starting Problems On a 91 Civic Sedan
As the title states, I have problems with my 91 civic sedan. This started after my upper coolant hose blew up while i was driving. I replaced the hose, drove it around for a day and parked it for the night.
Now, after that, i went to the car to start it up. It will crank and start but it takes a good 10 or so seconds. It started up and i was wondering why it took forever to get it running. So i shut it off and tried starting it again. Again, it had a hard time starting up. I left the car alone for the weekend.
Today my dad came over and we jump started the car. It will jump start and will run but once you shut it off, it wont start on its own battery power. At first i thought it would be the alternator, but i just replaced that a month ago and i dont see the battery light come on while its idling. The positive on the battery was loose, i tightened it up, no difference.
The battery was replaced right after the alternator was replaced, since it was dead. Now im thinking could it be the battery? Or could there be a short somewhere in the car somewhere?
I'm going to take the battery off and charge it later today and see if that solves the problem. But i wanted to ask you guys to see if it could be anything else. Thanks in advance.
