cold start issue?

cold start issue?
I have a 93 civic lx with a 5spd. It has quite a few miles on it.
Well lately it has been getting around high 40's to low 50's over night, so the car sits about 12 hours before I go to work at 6am. When I start it up it revs up then dies, usually happens 2-3 times then starts up normal. any ideas what it could be? car runs and drives normally in city and highway driving, idles good etc.
