Hesitation in low rpm and hard starting when cold
Just did a headgasket job on a 1994 civic w/ a d15b7. Idle is fine, but if you just tap the throttle for a quick rev it stumbles for a second, then revs fine. If you ease into the throttle its much smoother and once it builds some RPM's it seems to have normal power.
Also, it has an issue starting when the motor has been sitting overnight. I have to crank it with giving it gas for atleast 5 or more seconds...it starts, kind of stumbles, then idles normally. When warm, it fires up very quickly without hesitation. Its throwing code #6 for the ECT sensor...the plug that goes to the sensor in the head is damaged so I know the source of the code. Could the code be related to either of my problems? Any input on where to start would be helpful.
