i'd like to get to 200 whp on the cheap....i have a d16y8 out of a 97 ex coupe, but it is using a virgin p28 obd1.....(strange setup - with wierd idling - since it's a odb2 motor and there are vacuum lines that run to the intake manifold on the odb-1 motor that don't exist on the odb2 motor...so the idle sometimes is rough - or suddenly drops)
i would like to stay n/a if possible...it will not be a daily driver.
i am not totally opposed to turbo-charging it - it's just a matter of $$...for the price of a turbo kit, i could just swap out the engine.
and yes, 200whp...not bhp.
i was just looking on jdm motors, and it's curious that there is a c23a acrua legend type II motor that puts out 230hp and 197 torque - that would be fun to drop into a 92 civic hb, if it would fit... ;-)

200whp turbo will be cheaper than 200whp NA. Provided you find good used turbo parts you could realistically have a 200whp turbo car for less than $1000. A "good" namebrand new I/H/E setup will cost you $1000.
I am fairly certain there are mounts available for the C series or J series but its rather unrealistic in my opinion.

i am used to n/a engines - so i am a nooby to the turbo world....is there a brandname(s) that you would recommend, and a good place to look for used turbo kits?
