Project D15z1 side ride need advice?
i got a 1993 civic EG VX D15z1 VTECE engine on the side. My other ride is a EG coupe.
With this one, i want to know that what is best for preformance. Ive searched online that this motor is hopeless with preformance upgrades, but i am still curious on what can i tweak or do to it. I know money needed but i dont got. currently i got a short ram intake that's about it. Is there anything i can do? Curious its my second car for work and just want to see what i can do. New motor not right now? or should i just leave it?
I was thinking in putting a D16a6 throttle body assuming if will it fit? The sensors, on it? will it fit? and assuming that the engines computer is PO7 or IDK? I was thinking of putting a D16 VTEC computer will it work? will this give any power?
Also ive heard changing the long Azz VX tranny to a EX or Si tranny will that be good? Shorter gear?
That's all i can think of and i need advices b4 ill do it?

the throttlebody will bolt on as will any other d series part, the ecu on the other hand will not work. The ecu for the d16a6 is a non-vtec ecu as well as its OBD0 and your car is OBD1

the throttlebody alone is not gonna gain you anymore horsepower, there might be a way to lock the rockers so it is a true vtec application with your head though.
Sell it to someone who's really into Fuel Economy, then buy something else with more guts. There's lots of us FE types who'll pay reasonable dollar for a VX engine. You'll likely never be happy putting tuner mods on it anyway and later regret investing money and time.
Also will it work if i put a Dseries VTEC ECU in my D15z1?
