OK, as some of you know. I just blew out my first transmission, 95 Civic EX stock automatic trans. Now I just bought a 00' Civic EX automatic tranny with 7,500 miles on it and I want to keep it for a while (as long as humanly possible). How the hell is this possible? I smoked my first trans but that had 99+k miles on it and was already wore and tired from neutral drops (I was dumb, I have learned). How can I extent the life of my new tranny?

BTW, I'm running a T3/T4 (.63 A/R and .57 Trim) at 10 PSI.

Oh yeah, I'm not upgrading to a manual unless someone wants to come to my house and do it for $500 bucks + parts so forget it!

easy, tranny cooler plus change tranny fluid every 12-15K miles.

I would also suggest using 1/2 Honda ATF fluid and Mobil-1 synthetic ATF or Trick Shift Synthetic ATF. While I agree with Mista's recommendation about 12-15k, I would like to refine that to a minimum of once a year fluid changes. If you drive more than 12-15k, change it at 12k, but if you drive 6k a year, change it once a year.

Will a tranny cooler and the tranny fluid mix along with changing the trans fluid every year or 12k miles allow me to run 20+ PSI on the stock trans? I am building the engine up right now to support the horsepower but I need a trans that can put it to the ground properly.

Trannies are limited by mechanical problems. The advice we gave was to keep one going for a long time under harsher operating conditions (heat, hard shifting etc.), and not talking about high horsepower. If you exceed the carrying capacity of the transmission, it doesn't matter how well you take care of it, it will break. I can't say if 20psi of boost on your motor will break your tranny or not. I know the manual transmissions can put up with that, but I don't know about the automatic.
