Congrats

Which box did you get? The EG or the (2-sided) EK?

Thx! I actually went with the EG one. I contemplated
getting the EK for the extra inlet for a make shift cold air,
but I heard they're might be a fitment issue. So to play it
on the safe side I went with the EG.

Sure it looks dope and everything.... And i bet it cost you a packet too...
But how much cold air do you think its going to get from facing the bonnet, given that hot air rises and gets trapped beneath the bonnet...

Think about it maybe...
Its a big name but any fool can see its a crap design...

my old ARC box, that thing made less power then a stock box with a HKS filter, other then looking good it was it for it. no midrange torque either, as claimed
two problems with it is that it heats up really quickly and holds the heat, and second is that the filter elements get dirty extremely fast plus expensive to replace

never again

it gets more thumbs down from me the Reactive piece

The box in the first pic is the EK box

No doubt, the paper filters kill the top end - but the ARC is all about midrange power (no AEM dip), torque and snappy throttle response...

I was thinking about changing over to the optional black foam filters for my EK box (which is WAY bigger), but I found a used Mugen intake, so I am switching...however, I will test both on the dyno to give a side by side comparision

ARC Box is crap. My friend lost 2 horsepower across the board and 5 on the top end switching from an ITR AEM CAI to the EK ARC Box intake. It's expensive, takes up lots of space, expensive filters.. That **** sucks.

For the price of that thing you could have bought CTR pistons and rings and actually made more power and torque.

I would like to see a ram air set up with a k&n type filter on that box.

I always think it's kinda funny when certain parts out there make no power on the dyno OR the track then people go... "throttle response!"

I'm sorry, I bought this for you and now you don't approve What ever
will I do now?

Well, I bought this because I wanted it. I could afford it, so I bought it.
I also have JDM ITR pistons coming in, so that is not even a concern. I have a
another motor sitting in my garage that will have plenty of torque. So please, lay off the woulda, coulda, shoulda stuff, it's tired.

Keep the hatred coming

Are you referring to Rodney? Cause I got the impression he was quite happy with his ARC box (for the EK)...something else you can't measure on the dyno is throttle response; the ARC simply excels in this regard. People who have DRIVEN my Si (w/ARC intake chamber & box, Spoon TB) are always amazed by the smoothness of the powerband and the throttle response.

Yes, the paper filters will kill off some of the top end, but I am happy with the tradeoff
