Default Fixing Rust

So I picked up my winter car, a little accord. It has some normal honda rust on the quater pannels. I was just seeing how I should go about fixing it. I plan on bondoing it. My plan was to first sand it with 100 grit. Then put in the bondo. Then sand about 200 grit, then move up to 500 grit. Then paint. Let me know what you guys think of this, and any writeup's or advise would be great because it is my first time doing this. Before you say I need to grind it all out I'm just looking for a quick patch. And I plan on using some rust preventative to when it's sanded.

I"m not really sure what you're wanting, you don't want to hear what everyone is going to suggest.

Cut it out, weld it back up, etc

If you don't care about it then just ignore it and spray rust preventative stuff on it.

yeah the best way to fix rust is cutting out all rust (cancer) and welding in new metal or even glue in a patch panel(special body panel adhesive sold at auto paint supply store).
an iffy way to do it is cut out all rust and create a backing in the missing area out of thick screen mesh like a bondo mesh patch(attach with sheet metal screws or rivets) and then use a fiberglass reinforced filler like duraglass (very tough stuff) over the mesh to create your new surface, with several applications to build the shape with sanding, then use a lightweight filler over that to perfect the shape and surface. And the last and worst way is to sand the rust, apply rust converter and body filler over (not bondo, that stuffs garbage spend an extra $10 and get something quallity) I've done all 3 before and learned quite a bit. do the last way only if you like to see your hard work blistering in a couple months! lol hope this directs you a little better!
