Ok well i just rear ended a charger because he ran over a f'en dog and made him stop out of nowhere. My q is whos at fault here. I tried to steer my car to left but didnt make it happen. So my right front is cooked. Not much damage, no frame just my headlights,corner fr bumper and hood. Heis car had nothing but paint damage...(F***). So my car took it all . I guess cuz the dodge charger is higher i ended up on the bottom of his rear.

Will it be considered my fault? Or will the insurances say it wasnt either ones fault? I hope they fix my **** cuz my front bumper was cracked to begin with. Im hoping i get a free repair.

Any input is appreciated. Will post pics soon. Just needed to vent......

 

well not sure about CA put in PA we have no fault insurance. But if the charger says he hit an animal, and you werent to close than i think u should be fine. I hope u have full coverage.

 

most pigs say whenever u hit someone in the back its ur fault, in this case who knows.

 

i know here in WA if you ever hit someone in the rear its ALWAYS your fault. ALWAYS... doesnt matter if they pulled out in front of you or had no brake lights... its happened to me. its shitty

 

Nope liability only. Just purchased the car. But i really dont think it was my fault nor his. Since the damm dog cut him off. And he still managed to run him over. No airbags deployed on neither. No one was hurt. Just my baby..by baby i mean my car....LoL. Not even my car has much damage. So i think theyll consider it wasnt eithers fault.

That's the way it is here for the most part. But of course the jack-booted thugs tend to have a soft spot for pretty girls so if you're the right gender and have a skirt short enough it's never your fault

Correct me if I'm wrong but with liability insurance your ride won't be gettin fixed it's just enough coverage to be legal again I could be wrong as I've never had anything less then full coverage an in Cali if you rear end someone no matter the case it's your fault fuked up I kno but hey that's Cali for you, my wifes aunt was sittin at a lite in the left turn lane when to cars collided an slammed into her pushin her into the car behind her an was charged for the rear end accident I'm still tryin to figure that one out

Well if i hit him by my fault maybe. But how would i control him braking out of nowhere cuz he managed to run over the dog? Worst case scenario is its my fault. Hopefully it wont be eithers. And his insurance will pay my ****. And i get a whole new OEM front. Thats atleast what im hoping for.... cuz it could be considered his fault also that he didnt see the dog and braked out of nowhere.

 

meh doesn't look that bad. my buddy rear ended a truck on the way to school in his hatch, got blinded by the sun on the way to school. totaled the thing out. (he bought the car w the front end done)

There gonna say you were following to close to not be able to stop an since it was at nite (assuming it was) that's how it will not be the other guys fault an I don't think his insurance will cover your ride but hope so, I picked up my front bumper in Cerritos for 45 bucks just needs paint so if you have to fix it your self it's not that bad

 

Well if you both are doing 35mph and the driver in front of you floors his brakes out of nowhere, how can that be one's fault? Obviously you dont have enough time to brake. and even if you braked you probably dont have enough time to come to a complete stop. Obviously he didnt. Cuz he ran over the dog.

Well it was at night. at 7:05pm to be exact.

 

i still remeber in drivers ed they told us if you rear end someone it's almost always your fault. In ohio there's only one case it's not your fault but it's incredibly obscure and would never happen. Even if you rear end someone because someone rear ended you they still say it's your fault because you were to close to the person in front of you. My friend rear ended a biker once because the guy cut him off and luckily for him a cop saw the whole thing and sided with him. But thats the only case ive ever heard.

 

Your insurance company wont be paying to fix your and his wont either becuase you hit him from behind. Their gonna say you were following 2 closely to the driver in front of you and youll say i was going the speed limit right with the person and their gonna say you should have been a good distance behind him. Now tho if the guy in the charger wants to go after your insurance company he can for his paint damage and your insurance rate will go up in the next policy update. Your gonna have to pay out of the pocket to fix your car tho.

 

That's where there gonna get you cause it was at nite an the other driver can say he didn't see the dog til it was to late an that both you an him couldve been speeding if all else fails his insurance will cover him an yours cover you but with liability I'm not to sure how it will work out for you
