Default Viper 5901 wiring issues

Ok so I sold my old car with my Viper 5900 alarm in it. I did a stealth install myself and I can say I'm not an idiot with wires.

I'm installing a Viper 5901 [cause I wanted to see how the step up was] in a 1994 Honda Civic 4dr EX automatic. I've run into some issues.

My remote start activates but DOES NOT crank the motor.
My parking lights don't flash.
Is it me or is the brain for the 5901 slightly bigger then a 5900? I can't fit the damn thing behind the cluster =[.

I have all remote start wires wired up like the manual says and like Causeforalarm does.
One thing I ran into the heavy gauge 10-pin connector has one wire I can't figure out and it red/black. I do not have it run to anything.

Has anyone else had any frustrations with this? Or is it just me? BTW this is my first REMOTE START set up not my first stealth alarm =].

First did you hook up the starter output the correct way?
second did you plug in the fuse into the brain so the parking lights to work?
Yes the brain is bigger. If I can put it behind the cluster so can you. Its not going to be easy but it can be done.

Ok so it does take a bit more finessing to get it behind the cluster. I'll try that. I actually didn't plug in that dumb fuse now that I think about it.

As for the remote start. I cut the black/white starter wire and if i remember right I put the green wire to the end going to the ignition switch and the purple wire going to the other end. Or did I brain fart and get them backwards?

Green goes back to key and purple goes to starter side. Also the unit comes set to manual mode. So the car will not start unless you go thru a reservation mode. You have to either use a bitwritter or go thru the programming mode to set the unit to auto mode. If not there is no remote start

np, alot of people have been bugged by this. And alot more bitwritter sold since this brain came out. This keeps installers honnest(yea right) and people off the net asking for help(diy). Follow the program mode in the instruction book to turn the brain to auto remote start.

hey. Thanks for your help. I figured out my problem. Te remote start was not cranking because I had connected the wrong wire for the polarity draw for the starter. For future reference to people doing remote start with a 5901 and following causeforalarm, the red/white wire is not used. The red/black is used in it's place. Red/white is ignition 2 power while red/black is power to starter.

Also people experiencing the problem with parking lot flash, plug the fuse into positive polarity flash.

Thanks

im pretty sure that red/black it the option for second starter. if you dont have a second starter you hook it up to 12v. red/white for 12v as well. atleast thats always what i do and this is what i do for a living.
