Default eg coupe lowering help plz!

ok so i bought some coild overs for my car, threw em on and slammed them all the way down, i scraped on every single little bump there was, took out my fender wells to see if it would help and nothing. So i raised the car back up now its only lowered around 2 inches or so, all the eg coupes i see are slammed and most the ppl i know who owm them barely ever scrape, just was wondering if ne one may know why my car was scraping so bad when only dropped 3 inches, because i would love to slam the car. it has stock struts and coilovers, buying struts soon, and has tegy fat fives on it. Some one plz help

well your struts are prolly blown so when you go over a bump your car rocks really hard then bashes your car off the ground....

and maybe you should do it the right way rather then half-*** it

You need to stiffin up your suspension so that it doesn't sway and bounce so much on bumps, yes you will have a harder ride but it will keep you from rubbing so much. I can't even get my finger between my wheel well and tire, and I don't rub unless I go fast on a dip or something.

Ebay coilovers? And stock shocks. Never lower on stock shocks. New or not. YOu probably blew them out riding that low. Don't cheap out on the suspension.

If I understand correctly your struts cost $30 new?

If so, that would be a problem because real struts cost more than twice that per strut (the cheapest ones).

my money is on the cheap *** suspension set-up paired with no suspension knowledge whatsoever.

Tokiko HP's are stock replacements, so any theory that you have about them performing well with any type of coilover set-up you can get that out of your head now.

Here's my advice, if you want to be low throw 195/50R15 tires on your new wheels and buy a set of REAL coilovers, not cheapo ballin on a budget sleeves, i don't even care if they are ground controls with eibach springs, they SUCK. Look into K-sport if you don't want to spend better than a grand on coilovers. PM DRFlickner on here for the best price by far.
