i have an 89 crx with a zc 1.6l dohc non vtec, it starts like a carburated motor. And when its warm its got a high idle about 1500 rpm. got any suggestions?

 

Check you're vacuum lines. It might of slipped off or it might be damaged. You might have uncontrolled air entering the manifold. When did this start?

 

when i swapped the stock 1.5 out and put the zc dohc. but when it warms up it runs fine besides the high idle. but sometimes it wont start period, and u let it set for like 10 15 minutes it starts right up

 

another questions what year and model do i buy parts for this motor??

 

Man i have the same problem i have a d15 with dual port. mine also sometimes wont start. i have been trying to find a vacume leak but its hard to find it while the motor is idleing. does anyone know how to find a leak?

 

spray a mist of water on your vac lines, if the engine bogs you've found the leak.

The Main Relay is a common reason for the EF's not to start.

 

depends on the part - some are 88-89 Integra and some are 88-91 CRX/Civic - timing belt is 88 Prelude 2.0L Si

 

Hey guys. I swapped a 1.6 DOHC ZC into my crx and i have spark and fuel but it wont start. it turns over and sounds like it wants to start but doesnt. also I have a full parts list for the ZC DOHC motor if you need it

 

You would get more responses if you made your own thread.

Have you checked the timing and compression?
