walbro fuel pump installation, is it necessary to have the kit?

Default walbro fuel pump installation, is it necessary to have the kit?

i was curious if i can just install the pump with out the kit?

the kinda comes with the filter and some other small parts.

Well uh let’s see here... You should always install a new fuel pump with new hose and a new filter sock. You can do as you like though just don't get on here crying if the pump fails because you didn't do it right and reused your dirty sock. Then the warranty is voided and you are out $100...

its not the filter that i am questioning, its whether i can actually still install it with out the extra parts the kit has in it. i have not opened it up nor have i seen pics of what the stock setup looks like.

Then what are you asking about if you are not talking about the sock filter? Besides the wiring harness, the short rubber line, and rubber mount bushing there isn't much more included with the kit other then the sock.

Have you ever changed an in tank fuel pump before? They have a filter on the fuel pump as well as a FUEL FILTER in the feed line between the motor and gas tank.

To answer YOUR question, no you do not need anything just install the fuel pump by itself... why waste the extra $5 to $10 it might cost to do it right? That is crazy talk wasting all that money.
