h22 prelude idles 4000k
yo whats up techs need some help here i have already searched. now here we go. i turn the car on and idles up to 4000k plan and simple. i check my timeing flywheel and crank on tdc and skunk 2 cams on tdc new timing belt and balncer belt. becasue it would just rev limit at 4k then i saw oil light. so i changed my oil now i can go to 8 grand no probm just high *** idle. i know that cant be the problem. now i was getting the code 16 which i already searched and says fuel injectors i have the honda servie manual. i took care of that issue. one of the wires from my resistor box came loose. okay so that problem is takin care of. but the problem im having is the idle. now people said they fixed it with iacv well in mycase i have perfect working ones i clean both with the diy form in here still same thing.i dont have a fiv(fast idle valve) becasue i have skunk2 intake manifold 78 mm bore and blow tb that take out the fiv so i know i cant idle it down only if i had that now my set up is this
h22a
cometic HG
Skunk2 cams adj
Skunk2 Intake manifold 78mm bore
Blox TB 78mm bore
450cc dsm injectors
hondata intake heatshield gasket
t3/t4 turbo setup

just an idea did u take ur throttle cable off??to tight? also wat about setting ut idle to wat u want in ur tuning software if u have one just acouple things u can try
Does that s300 have a rev limiter function? Some do? What kind of dizzy are you running on this h22a?
Stock wiring is suspect in this type of problem it sounds stupid but check your grounds, it sounds like maybe you have a tps and map sensor swapped or maybe one or another sensors backfeeding on the power loop. Thats why it can still hook up at wide open throttle, but they can't idle up good.
is the p28 running on a dedicated engine harness or is it jumpered out? can the s300 data log? i bet you could track down a bad sensor pretty quickly if the computer showed the data each was producing.
I think i asked more questions than you, but anyway good luck.

wow alot of help and questions. i dont have any vac leaks i have never seen a leak causing an idle that high lol.

yes i took the cable off and no its not tight its loose.the idle on my s300 is at 1000 .

yes it has the funtion and my limit is set at 8000. right now i have the h23 dizzy first i had the h22 and it did the same thing. i will check my grounds though. tps and map not swap becasue the harness on the fire wall is to short to reach. yeah its running on stock harness no jumper car 92-96 odb1.yes the s300 can datalog but its not showing any codes thaNKS but i will check grounds and look for vac leak

okay update for those that fix the problem and not say whats wrong well im not like that here i fixed the issue
okay i got another harness and pluged everything up and changed iacv now i dont know if that was the issue but while i did that i noticed the tb plate was open just a bit. how did that happen i dont know damn blox tb. so i saw a screw that positions the plate and i took the screw all the way out. and i also loosen the tps and moved it. and now i got it to idle at a wopping 568 from what hondata smanager is saying lol to low now im cool so for those who have this issue check the tb plate or screw i thnk its an idle screw. and dont worry about the iacv becasue it still idle high. now on my smanager it says the tps is 2% should i get it to zero or is that okay because now the idle is to low.
thanks for all your help and i knew no vaccum leak could cause 4k idle not unless it was multiple.

i have an h22 with the same problem. i have swapped my throttle body with another car, didnt fix it, i swapped my iacv and still no difference. i figured there was air lock in my coolant system, not the case its fully bleed, timing is fine, spark plugs are fine, no vacume leaks that i can find with carb cleaner, maybe take it to a shop and get it smoke machined and find the leak? im thinking possible intake manifold gasket. please respond with any ideas, my throttle cable is adjusted properly and everything, im loosing my mind
Had a crazy idle a few months back. Turned out to be the intake manifold gasket. Easy fix. To find the leak I sprayed throttle body cleaner all over the outside of the manifold until the idle dropped to a normal rate and almost shut off. The idle will drop or the car will shut off as the intake cleaner gets sucked in.
there is a plug on the head, just above the thermostat housing, it looks like a threaded plug for like a 5mm hex. my motor seems to bog/sputter whem i spray air intake cleaner around it. it is very close to the intake manifold, so it could partly be the manifold gasket, but does anyone know if behind this plug is coolant or could it be vacume related? and on that note if it is coolant, could it be sucking air in rather than leaking coolant out if there was a bad seal??
