Default No heat!!

Hey my cousin has a 2001 Prelude and it has no heat in it. The temp gauge comes up to half way and stays there doesnt overheat, and isnt super low as to it being a tstat. The car has A/C and was wondering if the car has a coolent shut off valve on it that might be stuck closed? Any help on this would be great as its getting colder here by the day and heat is nice lol.

look at the valve connected at heater hoses , could be stuck closed. Then check the heater core and also check the climate controls . I think there was problems with that.

same thing here bro. my 4th gen is giving me very little heat. it heats up just enough to defrost some of the windshield to see. I removed the little valve on the heater core hoses to help but did that make it worse or does it matter???

Could be a blown headgasket or if lots of air got in the coolant system at one point; it all gets caught up inside the heater core and then no heat.

What do you mean by checking the climate controls? Like see if the cable is aculay moving in the hearer core? And for the headgasket, the car does have a little whit smoke coming out the tail pipe but it seems to run fine, would a comp test tell me it the headgasket is gone? I will try and bleed out any air if there is any see if that helps.

White smoke = coolant = blown headgasket. I can almost guarantee that's your problem.

well I dont have any white smoke. has had the same coolant in the car for over 6 months and never had to fill it. in my case I hardly doubt it a headgasket but I did change the heater core hoses a while back maybe thats what let all the air in. how do I bleed it? I blew through the heater core hose and it doesnt seemed clogged. im starting to run out of ideas. sorry to post my issues on your thread bro...

I really dont think it would be the headgasket, it doesnt over heat at all and runs fine and it doesnt use any coolent. If it had air bubbles wouldnt it overheat as well? The car only has 120k on it. Where abouts is the valve for the ac? Im gonna check the car out on sunday and ill run a comp test and all that, what should the psi be at for the compression? 190?

And 313 dont worry about posting here, if we can get a few issuses fixed all the better!

So finaly got time to look at the car and it is the valve on the back of the the engine and it has a cable on it coming from the cabin, im guessing this is that ac thing. It is stuck closed you can put your hand on one side and its hot and the other is cold. The thing is seized and cant move it at all is there a easy way to take it off? And do I have to drain the coolent to do this or will it not leak out everywhere?

mine was bypassed so could that be why my heat isnt really hot. I mean it gets pretty warm but the fan doesnt blow hard like other cars so my windows only defrost by the vents.
