Default Heater takes a while to get warm.

My heater on my 92 cx isn't working quite right. It seems to take forever for it to get warm even after the car warms up. The coolant level is full and the car gets up to operating temperature like normal. I don't think my thermostat is open cause the car stays the same temperature. Maybe the heater core? I'm not sure how to check it or anything?

Are there any fuses for the heat?

no fuses for heat, possibly a block in the heater core, or yes i would just change out your thermostat, its a cheap and easy fix, especially if it hasnt been changed in a while

Heater in our cars does not have any fuses because it runs off the coolant.

If your heater is not working properly even after warmup then I suggest you take a look at your heater valve right on the firewall under the engine bay. The cable might have slipped or the valve might be broken.

Just have someone open it and close it from inside and you looking at the valve, see if the arm moves at all.

Then disconnect the cable that is attached to the valve and move it by hand, does the cable open it and close it all the way. If not replace and your heater should be fixed.

If the valve is good then you will have to move onto the vent flapper that is inside your air box(within your dash). Only way to check is to trace the cable and listen for the flapper gate to open and close, Usually it's a loose cable because I never seen that flapper go bad. Only the foam inside the air box goes bad thats why you get crap blowen at ya sometimes from the vents.

Ok so this is on the firewall in the engine? What exactly does it look like?

If the valve on the firewall is fine, then replace the thermostat. It may be stuck open.

does your honda have the full sized radiator or half sized? My 91 had a full sized.. took awhile to blow warm air.

I'll probably do this since they are pretty cheap. I've heard or changing to a different degree thermostat in the winters and summers but never looked into it much. Do you think I should change to a higher degree one or just keep the OEM one?

I run a regular T-Stat all year round and don't have any problems.

Change you thermostate, it will work great all year long, np

Go oem, most aftermarket brands are not as good, and performance ones like Spoon and such run your engine cooler, so you wouldn't want that either.
