Default LS into EJ8

my d16y8 is not putting out enough power for me so i got a good deal on a b18b1 from a 97 integra. Im sure the swaps been done loads of times but i cant find anything about it. where the d16 has vtec and the b18 doesnt will that be a problem? And what's the deal on the OBD stuff. ive just heard i need 97-01 cause its obd2 like mine or somehting. just wondering if i could get some of this cleared up and if someone could point me toward how to go about this swap. Thanks soo much to anyone that can help.

Since the b18 does not have VTEC you just ignore that wire. You will need to find an OBD2B P75 ECU since the motor you have is OBD2a and your car is OBD2b. I'm not sure if the 00-01 LS had immobilizers or not. If they do you will have to either send it in to get it removed or find an OBD2b to OBD2a jumper harness. That would be the best route. Other than that its pretty much straight forward like any other B series swap. You NEED to use the EWH that is already in your car as it is a one piece harness and the integras are two piece.

Im pretty sure that it was just 2000-2001 they had immobilizers so hopefully i wont have to worry about that, And if thats the case then does that mean all i need is the OBD2B P75 ecu and it should all go in smooth?

Yeah or a jumper harness with the OBD2a ECU

I'm pretty sure 00-01 integras were all OBD2B and the 99-00 civics were also. So if thats the case then an OBD2B ECU will have the immobilizer.

Also, not sure if you have looked into what mounts you need to get yet, or if the wiring was the only thing you were wondering about.

Make sure you get a 99-00 civic SI rear L bracket and SI timing bracket.

Edit: Just noticed you have a Canadian spec SI. You want the US spec SI. Or I think its the SiR in canada. Whichever model has the b16.

Nope. Its basically the same swap I did in my old EJ6, but easier.

You will still need to get the L bracket and timing bracket off a 99-00 B16. Also the torque mounts if you want to use em.
