the flashpro supposedly gets rid of the rev-hang, but i don't think there's any way to get rid of the delay that happens between hitting the gas pedal and the throttle opening; that's just the nature of dbw.

Throttle lag is the trademark of throttle by wire. The computer tries to cancel out any sort of erratic throttle input, hence the lag.

The only way to really help it out is to shift differently.

Wait a hundreth of a second longer before letting the clutch out.

If your talking about mashing the gas and it takes a second then I would suggest not mashing the gas. When I had an SI I felt like I got better acceleration quickly and steadily increasing the throttle vs just mashing the gas.

If your talking about the rev hang, you can try a throttle body spacer or those uber rev hang removal mods. W/e its called

Or you can just let the rmps drop before you shift.

I just powershifted

If you need to try all that was said to "hopefully shift better" you must have other issues or can't drive a stick very well. I've never noticed it to be that bad at all. And I'd say better get used to it because I think most of the cars made now are DBW. It's here to stay.

It seems that most of the people that complain about DBW have never driven one before and this was their first newer car that had it. My 350Z, 3series, and new work trucks all acted similar to me.

^well, this is the civic we're talking about here, which is more of a "entry-level" car than your 350 or 3-series; i'd bet that for a lot of 06+ civic owners, this IS their first car with dbw. i know that it's my 1st, and the dbw is really the only thing i don't like about my car (that, and the lack of power haha).

I know it's entry level but I'm saying my 350 and 3 had it too

I admit, the DBW was weird, but I adjusted to it. I just let go of gas sooner before press the clutch. it works for me now instead of me working for the DBW.
